The easiest time of the year to spot wolves is in the winter.  However, the easiest time of the year for wolves to spot us in the winter.  A conundrum, but in my opinion the opportunity to photograph wolves in the winter is worth the risk as they are, in my opinion, some of the most beautiful animals in the world.
