Probably one of the more iconic images of the American west is that of a bison standing and covered in snow.   Winter is brutal in the western United States and the bison take the brunt of the winter cold and snow.  Survival is dependent upon their ability to move snow with their massive heads to get to the grass below.  Their every hour is dedicated to finding food and staying warm.
