Lions are beautiful, strong and the epitome of a predator.  Male lions with their beautiful manes attract most of the attention but I find that the female (lioness) are just as beautiful.  This female was resting and calm when I took this image but just a few minutes later she got stressed and wasn’t happy.  The guides we had called these types of lions “The Princess of the Pride”.  They were not the alpha females but they were waiting to one day be the queen.
